ABOUT THE CENTRE
Crystal Growth Centre has been started functioning
from 2004-2005 onwards in the Department of Physics,
Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur. The
scholars in this centre concentrate on two main areas of research namely (i)
Crystal Growth
and (ii) Nanoscience. Some
of the facilities available in the Crystal Growth Centre are
Furnace with temperature controller(Max. temperature
reachable is 1200 oC), Two probe arrangement with
temperature controller for measuring dielectric constant,
loss and conductivity, LCR meter(Systronics make and Pacific
make), Electronic balance, pH
meters, Hot plate magnetic stirrers, Microwave oven, Hot
plates and ovens, Abbe’s refractometer, Digital multimeter
for measuring
resistance (200 M W),
He-Ne laser, Hydraulic press, Internet facility, Constant
temperature bath and the like.
