Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan
is an educationist, an industrialist, a sports personality and a philanthropist. He has been awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) by Madurai-Kamaraj University,
Madurai, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Manonmaniam Sundaranar
University Tirunelveli, University of Madras, Chennai and
Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai in recognition of his contribution to the development of higher
education, industry and sports. He is Director of the vernacular newspaper "Daily Thanthi" and also of a host of
industries in Tamil Nadu. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) conferred upon
Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan the 'Olympic Order of Merit' (1995) in recognition of his outstanding service to Sports and Education.
Dr.B.Sivanthi Aditiyan is the President of Volley Ball Federation of India, Executive Vice-President of Asian Volley Ball Confederation and Executive Vice-President of International Volley Ball Federation. He is also Life President of Indian Olympic Association
. The Government of TamilNadu nominated
Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan
as the Sheriff of Madras and he held the office, as a special honour, for two terms 1982 and 1983.
Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan renovated the 178
feet 'Rajagopuram' of Arulmigu Kasivishvanathar Temple, Tenkasi being the
President of the Temple Renovation Committe. Dr.B. Sivanthi Adityan was conferred with "Padmashri"
award by the president of India for his yeoman services to the
society through education, media and sports.
