SIVANTHI COMMUNITY RADIO (90.4 MHz)

The Community Radio is named after the Chairman of our Institution. Padmashri. Dr.B.Sivanthi Aditanar as "Sivanthi Community Radio" and is effectively functioning at Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur. It has its laurel beginning on 14th October 2007 and is broadcasted at 90.4MHz.

It is a non-commercial Radio. Primary social objective of this community radio is to create an awareness about health care, education, female literacy, self employment and environment preservation in the minds of local community residing within a radius of approximately 15 kms. It offers a forum for the public to participate and share their views on subjects related to community development. The Women and Child Care project funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is a very popular Programme among the women of the neighbourhood areas of Sivanthi Community Radio.

Apart from the Programme production, Sivanthi Community Radio also gives training on Broadcasting and Audio Production Techniques to the students and community people. Sivanthi Community Radio also provides opportunities to the budding artists to exhibit their talents.

So far, a good number of eminent intellectuals and distinguished personalities from various fields have come and shared their expertise and view points to the Community on a plethora of subjects through Sivanthi Community Radio. The future plans of Sivanthi Community Radio are to introduce and augment more number of programmes with thrust and special focus on Indian Culture, the mysteries of earth, career guidance etc.,
